With over two decades of experience, Joe Nierstedt stands out in the hospitality industry with his unique expertise and skilled background. Joe embarked on a remarkable journey, honing his skills alongside renowned chefs at acclaimed restaurants across America and Europe.


His culinary dedication blossomed as he mastered his craft at esteemed establishments such as Per Se, Mugaritz, Meadowood, and The Fat Duck. Joe also served as a private chef for high-profile clients and celebrities in iconic locations like NYC, The Hamptons, LA, British Virgin Islands, and the Côte d'Azur.


Returning to his roots in Charleston, South Carolina, Joe opened his first restaurant, KinFolk, in 2019. KinFolk pays homage to the authentic flavors of the South, drawing inspiration from traditional meat & threes, smokehouses, and chicken shacks. Joe adds his own creative twists to these beloved dishes, all while championing local farmers and purveyors.
